About Me

I am Sarah Lapierre, a 23 year old fashion designer based in Massachusetts. My designs can best be described as an I Spy book come to life; chaotic and random but in the best way. I enjoy making garments that are fun, loud, and kitschy. The intention behind my work is to represent things that make me happy, often relating to childhood nostalgia. I want viewers to see my pieces and smile, to feel like a kid again, to remember moments long forgotten. As someone who leans into the campiness of high fashion, I am inspired by the works of Moschino, Rei Kawakubo, and Betsey Johnson for their unique perspective on the runway and the life they bring to their work. My personal brand, Garbage Baby, combines all of these influences and is centered around the pure, uninfluenced joy and wonder you feel as a child. My goal is to continue building my brand and spreading my art with the world. You should be able to see my piece in a runway show and immediately know I designed it. It’s weird, it’s playful, it’s borderline tacky, it's authentically me.
